Case Study 1

Stone, Tile, and Flooring (Laticrete)

Custom Products – The customer was trying to increase brand exposure by getting more images of the company logo and slogan in front of their customers, prospects, and end users. The company was using general purpose clear tape on automated equipment to seal 400-500 boxes per day.

Introduced the customer to Plustar’s, in house, custom printing capabilities. Showed them how much more inexpensive it was to brand tape and film products, rather than corrugated boxes. Plustar then prepared a cost per application analysis spreadsheet, to be used as a spending comparative for the company’s national marketing department.

The Solution:

The customer now uses a two-color, custom printed carton sealing tape that clearly displays the company logo and message on every box. The new printed product is also a higher quality tape than they were previously using, which is better suited for the weight of their application. The customer was able to increase brand exposure and improve packaging product quality for only 1.6 cents more per box!

Plustar knows how important it is for us to get our logo and message in front of our customers and prospects, so they helped come up with the idea of a custom branded box sealing tape. Now we have an effective marketing tool and as well as an upgraded packaging tape, all for less than 2 cents more per box!

Case Study 2

Metal Fabrication

Customer required a tape to mask and protect aluminum formed into profiled narrow strips during a painting operation. Tape must be available in various tight tolerance widths, long lengths, conform to a profiled surface, the adhesive to resist outgassing if exposed to UV radiation ( sunlight ) and remove easily leaving no residue.

Consultation with the customers designers, engineers and production equipment operators, including observation of the manufacturing operations, allowed us to determine critical performance characteristics and suitable application methods. Initial sampling and testing was performed to confirm acceptable properties of several tapes. Custom slit samples were produced for testing in the customers process.

The Solution:

A thin, highly conformable adhesive tape, resistant to paints and solvents, custom slit in narrow width rolls to a tolerance of +/- 0.010”, in long lengths up to 3000 feet.
